Pandemic
Description
The cooperation classic that forces you to work as a team or watch the world collapse! Pandemic is the benchmark for cooperative board games. Players take on the role of specialists (Doctor, Scientist, Dispatcher, etc.) with asymmetric abilities, and must travel the world to treat disease outbreaks and, most importantly, discover the four cures before it's too late! The genius of Pandemic's design lies in the constant tension it generates. On your turn, you take actions (travel, treat, build), and at the end, the game attacks: you draw Infection cards, spreading the diseases and moving you closer to the inevitable outbreak. The game forces you to plan as a team, optimizing the few moves you have. Every decision is critical: Do you go to New York to contain a plague or go to Sydney to collect the last card that allows you to find the cure? Replayability is high thanks to different specialist roles and random placement of infections. If you're looking for a gaming experience where all players win or lose together, encourages communication, and offers an immersive strategic challenge, Pandemic is the perfect choice. It is an essential game for families and groups who want to escape direct conflict. The destiny of humanity is in your hands!

How to play
Each turn is divided into 3 phases: 1. Perform Actions: The active player can perform 4 actions (travel, treat the disease, build a research station, share knowledge, find the cure). 2. Draw Player Cards: 2 cards are drawn from the Player deck. If an Epidemic card appears, the game intensifies the outbreak. 3. Infection Phase: Cards are drawn from the Infection deck and disease cubes are added to the corresponding cities. If a city already has 3 cubes and a fourth is added, an outbreak occurs, spreading the disease to adjacent cities. The objective is to find the 4 cures. The game is lost if there are 8 outbreaks or if the disease cubes are depleted.
Why you might like it
Pure Cooperation: The game eliminates direct conflict, forcing collaboration, Narrative Tension: The appearance of the Epidemic cards generates moments of high adrenaline, Functional Asymmetry: The roles of the specialists feel really different and valuable. If you are attracted to games where everyone wins or loses together, with high narrative tension and constant strategic decisions, Pandemic offers an intense and very satisfying cooperative experience.
What to keep in mind
Prone to Alpha Leader Effect" (one player leads everyone's turns), The randomness of Infection card draw can make the game feel unfair at times, It's a puzzle to solve; replayability is about tactics, not story"
