Description

Build the medieval landscape of southern France, piece by piece, and claim your territory with your meeples! Carcassonne is a family-friendly tile-laying game that has captivated millions of players with its elegance, simplicity, and the visual satisfaction of watching the map grow on the table. On your turn, you simply draw a landscape tile and place it adjacent to existing ones, matching roads, cities, and fields. Once placed, you have the option of putting one of your followers (meeples) on that tile to claim the characteristic: be a knight in a city, a thief on a road, or a monk in a monastery. The genius of Carcassonne lies in the tension of placement: Do you place a meeple to guarantee quick points or save your last follower for a gigantic city in the future? Interaction is indirect and friendly, focused on the race to complete features and often trying to connect your project with a rival's to share the points. It is a game with excellent replayability thanks to the infinite variety of tiles that can be stolen. If you are looking for the perfect family game, easy to teach at any age, with a great aesthetic and that combines the luck of the draw with the placement strategy, Carcassonne is an essential purchase. Add it to your collection and start building your medieval empire!

How to play

On your turn, you draw a landscape tile and place it on the table so that its edges match (roads with roads, cities with cities, fields with fields). Optionally, you can place one of your meeples (followers) on a feature of the tile you just placed (road, city, field, or monastery), as long as that feature is not already occupied by another meeple. When a feature (e.g. a road or a city) is completed, the meeple is returned to the owner and points are awarded. The game ends when all the tiles are used up. A final score is made of all incomplete characteristics and, more importantly, the fields (farmers).
